Data Handling

As part of our topic we wanted to answer the question 'Which continent would Upland Primary School most like to live?'

We started by looking at the questions and discussing how we could answer it.

Emmanuel said that we could 'ask people on the blog and get them to reply'

Kobe said 'we could ask them by visiting other classes'

Layla said 'You could write down each year group and ask all the people in the classes and see how many they want, write them down and see which ones has the most'

Liam said we could use a tally chart.

To make it easier we decided to use technology.

Will suggested we use the iPads.

Shush it thought we could type into notes and record the names next to the continent.

Freddie suggested we ask the question and take a photo of the votes to help us collect data.

Luke thought it would be easier to record it.

As a class, we decided to record our results. Videos are coming soon ...

Maths Day

Today,it has been maths day! The theme is money and enterprising and in Thistle class we have been learning about the value of coins all day!

We began by matching coins with their value, then adding coins up in a purse. Then we played a game much like connect 4 but you had to beat your opponent by making £1.

Once we had done all of that we went to 'The Shop' and discovered how many sweets we could have afforded to buy!

Leap Year Day

In January, we learned all about Leap Years and why we have them. To celebrate the day yesterday we visited Greenwich Park to see the Meridian line! We had a fantastic day out with the whole school!!
