Using the internet to find out information

Miss Smiles asked us a question today ... 'What is the internet?'

We watched a video and found out that the internet is not a real place but somewhere you can share information and talk to people anywhere in the world.

We like to use the internet to play games, look for funny pictures, watch videos, read stories and find facts.

But... the internet isn't always for kids. If you find something you don't want to see you can tell an adult and they will help you.

So, we used a kid friendly search engine and searched for answers to the questions we had written in our books about the Olympics.

Next week we will use the information to make a poster.

Harry said that some of our searches didn't come up as we wanted them to. Now we know that if this happens we have to look at our question and see if we can add words in or take words out.

Libby said that the answers just weren't popping up! She found out that you had to read the information to find the answer she wanted!

Leo discovered that other people have put the information on the internet for us and it hasn't just got there by magic. This means that it might not always be true!
